Colette regrets not having been able to meet her correspondent during her trip to Nice
This letter must have been written between November 1916 and December 1926, when Colette was living at 69, boulevard Suchet. The Jouvenel couple had settled in what at the time was still a small mansion in the 16th arrondissement, on the border of Auteuil and the Bois de Boulogne. After their break-up and the departure of Henry de Jouvenel in 1923, Colette lived there until 1926.
