Berthe Mandinaud was Simone de Beauvoir’s official typist, who was responsible for the complete transcription of all of her work.
This short letter is probably a thank you for the typewriting done for Mémoires d’une jeune fille rangée, the first part of Simone de Beauvoir’s autobiographical work, which was to be published the following year.
