Quote with prophetic accents of the famous and glorious French aviator, who died on a mission aboard a twin-engine Noratlas
« De ma propre expérience, j’ai dégagé cette vérité essentielle, que les heures où nous sentons le mieux le prix de la vie sont celles que nous vivons “dangereusement” –
Maryse Bastié »
The first French aviator to achieve numerous female aviation records, Maryse Bastié quickly gained media attention in the late 1920s thanks to her exploits. At the start of World War II, she attempted to obtain the same rights as men to fly in combat and defend her country. She was promoted to lieutenant in the FFL at the liberation. The aviator tragically died on July 6, 1952, as a passenger in a Noratlas during one of her missions at the air show at Lyon-Bon Airport.
Maryse Bastié’s autographs are very scarce
