BERGSON, Henri (1859-1941)
Autograph aphorism signed « H. Bergson »
Paris, 5 February 1937, 1 p. in-8° on an oblong strip of paper
Fine condition
Nice aphorism from the philosopher used as the title of his message to the Descartes Congress of 1937
« Il faut agir en homme de pensée, et penser en homme d’action.
H. Bergson »
Unable to deliver his own message at the 9th Congress of Philosophy (Descartes Congress) in 1937, Bergson did so through the voice of Émile Bréhier. Consumed by deforming rheumatism from 1925, Bergson suffered until his death in 1941. Here we can observe the feverishness of his writing due to his illness.
