Two original prints of Colette in the company of her lover, the Marquise de Morny, known as « Missy »
These photographs were taken in Nice or Cannes, during the Baret theatrical tour in the spring of 1909, in which Colette took part, playing the role of Claudine in Claudine à Paris.
The first print shows Colette full-length, wearing a hat and a fine veil that lets her angular features show through, her eyes directed toward the lens. Behind her stands her lover, Mathilde de Morny, known as « Missy », in the midst of a conversation with two men.
The second print shows the two lovers on the front steps of a property, probably in the company of the theatrical troupe. At the far right of this group portrait stands Albert Michel, the administrator. He is the father of Willy Michel, who was very close to the Colette–Missy couple.
Exceedingly rare relics.
