Théodore Chassériau is a French painter. The portrait he painted at the age of 15 of Prosper Marilhat, makes him the youngest painter exhibited at the Louvre Museum.
Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres, his teacher at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris from 1830 to 1834, deceated the talent of the young Théodore very early on and predicted that he would be “the “Napoleon” of painting.
