Card to Le Mans:
Card without handwritten mention “Par Ballon monté” transported out of besieged Paris by the balloon Le Nom Dénommé 2 – Addressed to Le Mans – Postage of a 10 centimes Empire.
Stamping mark: Departure from Paris Étoile 25 rue Serpente on October 6, 1780 – No arrival stamp.
We also know that Le Non-dénommé N°2 left on Friday, October 7, 1870 at 2:15 p.m. from the La Villette gas plant. He landed on Friday, October 7, 1870, 12 km from Paris near Stains in a pond a few hundred meters from the enemy posts. Travelers remain hidden in the water until 7 p.m. Mail bags are picked up and shipped by the following balloons.
