Immersed in his work and the creation of his works, Bourdelle is surprised not to see his correspondent visit him
« Mon cher ami,
Bourdelle »
While continuing to exhibit at the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts, Bourdelle founded the Salon des Tuileries in 1920 with Besnard and Perret. He exhibited La Naissance d’Aphrodite, one of his last great works that have gone down in history. The artist occupied his studio (to which he refers here) in the former Impasse du Maine in Paris from 1895 until his death in 1929. The street was later renamed after him.
