Mistral is probably referring to the plays that appeared in the Lauseto almanac, edited by Louis-Xavier de Ricard (1843-1911) and the organ of the Félibres Rouges. The list having disappeared, it no longer allows us to identify the author of the Carmagnole. It is possible that the recipient of this letter was Thérèse Boissière, née Roumanille (1864-1927). The wife of the said was the sister of Félix Gras, capoulier (president) of the Félibrige following Roumanille, who died at the beginning of 1901. Gras did indeed write in the Lauseto, and celebrating the Carmagnole was very much in his style.
