Is La Vie en Rose referring to Jean-Louis Joubert (director of the Compagnons de la chanson), with whom she was in a relationship until 1948? However, this letter is reminiscent of a line from Jean Cocteau’s play Le Bel indifferent, a one-act monologue created in 1940 at the Théâtre des Bouffes-Parisiens by Édith Piaf and Paul Meurisse.
