Beautiful letter from Cocteau, adorned with an original coloured pencil drawing, about his collaboration with Karajan and his exhibition Terre et Cosmos

Jean Cocteau went to Vienna a few days later where he was received by Herbert von Karajan (1908-1989) to perform a trio collaboration with Igor Stravinsky (1882-1971) for the opera Liberi, Vos Liberabo: Oedipus, Act I.

Terre et Cosmos is an exhibition on which Jean Cocteau had been working since 1957. These were canvases painted to illustrate the conquest of space. It was held at the Champs de Mars the following year.
