Charming card from Puccini to his sister

This card is sent to his sister Ramelde Franceschini, Puccini says that he is not able to help her for what she needs.
He is going to Acqui Terme, a spa town close to Alessandria (Piemonte), where he will stay about ten days, and then he will go back home.
He signs “from me and Elvira”

“Cara Ramelde

In 1904, his opera Madame Butterfly was greeted by a scathing fiasco at the premiere in Scala, Milan. In particular, during the scene hen birdsong could be heard, the audience scoffed and heard shouts of a backyard of all kinds. This did not prevent it from becoming, three months later, another of his great successes, after a drastic revision.
