Josephine Baker regrets not being able to attend a banquet

Je viens de rentrer de l’étranger et je trouve votre lettre à propos de votre banquet qui a eu lieu le 7. Quelle malchance pour moi car rien ne m’aurait fait plus de plaisir que d’être parmi vous.

Practically ruined at the end of the 60s, Princess Grace of Monaco, a friend of the singer, of American origin and an artist like her, advanced her the necessary funds to acquire a large house in Roquebrune. She invited him to Monaco for charity shows. She was first buried in the Monaco cemetery before her remains were transferred to the Pantheon on November 30, 2021.
