From 1890, Puvis de Chavannes created with Meissonier and Rodin the foundation of the National Society of Fine Arts. He later refused to exhibit in Berlin.

Hippolyte DURAND-TAHIER (1864-1899) is a French painter. He actively studied painting under the pseudonym “Paul FROMENT” and exhibited his works at the National Society of Fine Arts exhibitions from 1897. On February 7, 1899, he died prematurely from surgery at the age of thirty-five.
