Curious manuscript by Gainsbourg for a cooking recipe

« Cuire pomme en robe des champs
peler
émincer truffe crue
dans un ravier
mettre crème fraîche
ciboulette
fond de veau
jus de truffe
rapper et mettre au four »

Gainsbourg’s passion for gastronomy is well established. We remember an anthology sequence, filmed in 1969, between the musician, with his partner Jane Birkin, Christian Millau and Roger Lamazère at his side. Gainsbourg enthusiastically admits to being the cook of the household and reveals his recipe secrets for Irish stew (lamb meat base, served with potatoes).

The recipe here written by Gainsbourg the epicurean seems to be potatoes with veal stock. He (unsurprisingly) embellishes them with a grated truffle, as a sign of further refinement.
