Nice letter from Maurice Genevoix evoking his books and his novel Cyrille

Maurice Genevoix”

Maurice Genevoix is a French writer and poet. His work as a whole testifies to the relations of agreement between men, between mankind and nature, but also between mankind and death. While he is heir to realism, his writing is served by a vivid memory, concern for accuracy, and poetic sense.
He also testified to the trials of the generation that made the Great War (1914-1918), particularly in Those of 14, a collection of war stories collected in 1949.

Cyrille, mentioned in this letter, is a work by Maurice Genevoix (Flammarion, 1929); reissued under the title La Maison du Mesnil (Le Seuil, 1982; Points Roman No. R451)
