Nice letter from Miró, then in the middle of work for his next exhibition at the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels

Joan »
[his wife Pilar Juncosa Iglesias adds her signature at the bottom of the letter]

Maria Papa Rostkowska (1923-2008), wife of Gualtieri di San Lazzaro (1904-1974), edited alongside her husband the magazine XX Siècle, created by him in 1938. They were home to many of the most important writers and art critics of the post-war period. In these articles, the journal analyzes and supports the development of the works of the artists of the new École de Paris.
The exhibition dedicated to Miró was held in Brussels in January and February 1956 before moving to Amsterdam from February to March of the same year.
The year 1955 marked a tipping point in the artist’s career. Although he began to paint again, he devoted himself almost exclusively to ceramics, until 1959.
