Nadar urges his correspondent to visit the first posthumous exhibition of Constantin Guys

Il faut enfin qu’on se rencontre !
Faites [l’] impossible pour venir jeter un coup d’œil sur l’ébauche de notre exposition Guys, rue d’Anjou, – en préparation de la très prochaine exposition publique.
Elle ne peut avoir lieu que demain mardi et le lendemain (clôture forcée).
Accourez-vous donc !

Constantin Guys (1802-1892) was a French draughtsman and painter. He is the dedicatee of the poem Rêve parisien by Charles Baudelaire (published in the collection Les Fleurs du mal). Baudelaire writes about his work The Painter of Modern Life, which can be considered as an essay or a praise, and in which he defines in particular the notion of modernity.
