On causera un peu ; on se voit si rarement !
Et tu es un de ceux que j’aime bien mon cher Henry.
Depuis la mort de ma chère mère, j’ai reporté sur ceux qui, comme elle, ne me font jamais tant que du bien, tout l’affection que j’avais par elle : et ta part est grande, car ils sont rares, ceux là !

This moving letter is addressed to the Belgian architect henry van de Velde (1863-1957), with whom Signac was very close. Van de Velde had notably made arrangements in the painter’s house.
Héloïse Anaïs Eugénie Deudon (1842-1911) married Jules Jean Baptiste Signac (1839-1880). Paul was their only child.
