Brownish overall, some spots, slightly scratched edges, some flaws, period handwriting on verso.


Nice portrait of Verlaine gazing to the horizon and wearing a small lavallière

On this photography he is turning into his forties, at the time of the publication of the Poètes Maudits. Verlaine was then recognized as a master and a forerunner by poets who favoured symbolism and decadentism.
